LARC Sponsorship Instructions

Spring Quarter 2024 LARC Sponsorships are open until Friday, April 19, 2024! You may be eligible for a LARC Sponsorships through the Center for Black Cultures, Resources & Research!

WE ONLY HAVE 21 SPONSORSHIPS AVAILABLE AT THE MOMENT! *We are only sponsoring 1 class per quarter/summer session* 

NOTE: Those currently living in the Academic Excellence Black Scholars (AEBS) in Mesa Court Bahia House & Arroyo Vista House #1002 have priority for a sponsorship. Filling out this form does not guarantee you a sponsorship. 

Eligibility

  • Step 1: Complete this form (https://tinyurl.com/ycxuo7k3) to submit a request to be sponsored by the Center for LARC.
  • Step 2: You MUST please email Adisa Ajamu (aajamu@uci.edu) & Niobe Duke (nduke@uci.edu) and CC the Center (blackcultures@uci.edu) requesting a LARC sponsorship.
    • The email should include the following:
      • FULL NAME
      • UCI EMAIL 
      • STUDENT ID NUMBER
      • WHICH QUARTER OR SUMMER SESSION (ex. Winter 2020 or Summer Session I)
      • ENROLLMENT DATE INTO LARC TUTORIAL(S)
      • UCI COURSE(S) YOU NEED LARC TUTORIALS ONLY!
      • LARC SESSION(S) CORRESPONDING TO YOUR UCI COURSE(S) *We are only sponsoring 1 class per quarter/summer session*
      • LIVING IN Academic Excellence Black Scholars (AEBS) in Mesa Court Bahia House or Arroyo Vista House #1002
        • If you live in another place, please specify where.
  • Step 3: You MUST attend at least 10 of the LARC tutorial sessions. 

The DEADLINE to apply for a scholarship for each Quarter is FRIDAY of Week 3.

The DEADLINE to apply for a scholarship for each Summer Session is FRIDAY of Week 1.

We will sponsor up to 1 LARC tutorial per quarter/summer session.

  • Please note that you can sign up for the LARC tutoring session of your choice prior to completing LARC Tutorial Scholarship requirements; signing up for a tutorial session does not warrant you a scholarship, you need to fulfill ALL scholarship requirements.
  • If you were eligible for the scholarship the previous quarter, that does not warrant you the scholarship this quarter.

Failure to complete ALL sponsorship requirements, all financial obligation falls on you. NO EXCEPTIONS!

LARC Tutorial Spring Enrollment opens Wed March 25th! 

LARC Schedule is NOW available on LARC Enrollment!

Students can see the schedule AND enroll in the same place: enroll.LARC.UCI.edu

All LARC services (ALS Workshops, Peer Consultations, After Dark services, and Tutorials) are available now. LARC Calendar of Events

LARC Workshops: LARC workshops are free and open to all undergraduates every week in-person and online. Information about workshops is now posted on Campus Groups rather than on our website. 

LARC After Dark: On weekdays, students can drop in person or online and get free live assistance from a LARC leader.  LARC After Dark schedule for Winter  Starts Week 3-10​ with NEW Rooms!​​

Individual Study Skills Coaching virtual appointments & in-person drop-in hours: free coaching is available by appointment and during drop-in hours. Students can make 1:1 appointments with an Academic coach

  • Simply click the link to view upcoming tutorials.

When can I enroll? 

  • The enrollment window opens Monday of Week 0 (1/1)

How do I enroll? 

  • Log in to select a tutorial that fits your schedule

How do I pay for LARC? 

  • LARC will bill $125 to your zot account at the end of the quarter!
