Student Outreach and Retention Center Book Scholarship

We know that Books are pricy 😥💸 so we’re here to help! Apply for the SOAR Winter Book Grant! We will be awarding eight $150 book grants to help ease the strain on your wallet.

UCI School of Medicine

A job opportunity which is roughly $20 an hour ($100 per session) where you “act like a patient” and help medical students learn how to be doctors. It's a year-long opportunity and you can sign up for the dates they are actually free. Scholarship Opportunities Program

SOP advises competitive UCI undergraduates in applying for 21 prestigious, nationally or internationally-competitive merit scholarships, all funded by outside agencies. Our staff perform outreach to students; assist students in matching their interests with available scholarships; advise students on application processes; provide content advice and editorial suggestions on statements of purpose, proposals for research or creative projects, personal statements and CVs; and prepare students for campus-level and national interviews. 

As our Trailblazer’s 10 scholarships application cycle approaches, please refer to the Fulbright U.S. Student Program and the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. In particular, we seek your referral of high-performing undergraduates who have demonstrated excellence in research, leadership, or public service.

Trailblazer’s 10 Scholarship Pre-Applications are due on Monday, April 11, 2022, at noon for undergraduates intending to begin graduate degree enrollment in Fall 2023. We offer advising throughout Spring and Summer Quarters for these eleven awards with external application deadlines in September and October.

UCLA Public Health Scholars Training Program

The UCLA Public Health Scholars Training Program is a CDC-funded workforce development program aimed to engage and expose undergraduate students to the field of public health with the goal of ultimately increasing the diversity of the public health workforce. Over the course of 8 weeks (June 19- August 13, 2022) students participate in internships with community partners 3 days per week and educational programming 2 days per week. During the summer, scholars attend a conference at the CDC in Atlanta, Georgia with Public Health Scholars from other programs across the nation. This is a paid internship, with students provided housing and stipends.
